cross drilled and slotted
for those of you considering cross drilled and slotted rotors, i installed mine with EBC pads in July and I'm already on my second set of pads on all four wheels. I was almost metal to metal. Anyone else notice these pads wear quick?
4 months isn't long for a set of pads!

This does not sound right. You'd better have your calipers checked. Sounds like your brake pistons got stuck even after you release the brakes.
I just checked my EBC today, after 10k miles of hard driving, I still have more than 50% pads left.

HI,
I am thinking about upgrading my brakes. i have a question about either purchasing slotted drilled rotors or just drilled rotors. I notice that brembo sells drilled rotors and other companies sell drilled and slotted rotors. I have a few questions
1) Does slotted and drilled rotors affect brake pads more in terms of wearing them down faster or it's same for drilled rotors only?
2) what kind of pads should I get in terms of brand, composoite etc.. I want it to be quiet and not noisy? OEM or other manufacuters
3) Do I just need drilled rotors in front or rear too?
thank you for you responses
robert

Slotted rotors tend to wear brake pads more quickly because the slots act like razor blades each time they go around, but this will increase brake pad "bite" which equals better braking.
Cross-drilled rotors lose structural integrity from the holes and tend to crack easier than stock rotors under racing conditions.
So if you going with slotted AND cross-drilled rotors....you are basically getting cooler (temp) and better braking performance, at the expense of dealing with quicker pad wear for street use.
