Question Success with TSIB Upper/Lower Windshield Tick Noise

Who has or has not had success with this TSB.

No success for me. I was not aware that they even did this attempt on my car until I read the invoice to see what they did Dec last year.
This is what they did:
Noise on passenger side - windshield meets dashboard:
“Removed speaker cover, removed D speaker, Insulated with felt, RE installed parts. Removed front windshield cover, cut tab insulated left front window area. Reinstalled wiper blade and crowl. Test drove vehicle, noise was no longer present. Could not hear noise pushing on dash either.”

Now the area is the passenger side. I can see where they put what appears to be gas line hose between the widow and the dashboard, so hopefully when they refer to left side, it is the passenger side of the car. At any rate, two days later, same noise appeared and just as loud. Decided to wait to see if Lexus found a fix and now a year later still nothing new. Now that it is cold again, it has started up.

Please post your result from this TSIB and detail they did to your car.
Thanks

Update 12-8-2006
Update 12-8-2006
Noise is back just as worse. Decided to open the hood to see if I could tell if they worked on the Passenger side since they stated “left side”. Well, they defiantly worked on the passenger side. When I looked down by the windshield I noticed they sawed the paint through to the underneath material (just what I needed). Can not see all of it since the cowl covers the area. Not only can’t believe they did this, can’t believe they did not fix it. It is so obvious. Another call required.

I have only taken it in once, and the felted the area and put insulation, still the same noise the next day. They are taking it back again when I have a second to give it to them and I'll let you knwo then.

Just took my GS300 AWD in for the first oil change about 2 weeks ago. At the time, I had no real major creaks or rattles so I considered myself lucky and left it at that. Since the cold weather hit here in Philly, I have a ton of creaks coming from the center of the dash and my sunroof creaks have become worse. It really gets on my nerves every timeI get in the damn thing, but i can't see taking it in just for these issues. I'll probably just wait another couple months and mention it when I take it for the next service...unless it gets worse.

Funny, almost the same story here. I took mine in for an oil change last week and there weren't any rattles but the very next day..... a rattle in the upper right dash developed. The weather got much colder so that might explain it.

I have had the problem look at six times. The last time it was quiet for a
awhile but noise in the dash, windshield areas have returned I am looking
forward to replacing this car with an 07 GS350. I hope this will take care of
the noise problems.

Damn, and I thought these problems were only related to GS300 not GS350? I haven't experienced any creaks yet, so wondering if this problem is consistent across every new '07 model or just in separate cases?

Jace,
I’m with you on this one. The problem is the dealer will take the dash apart and we may end up with more problems. I’m going to another dealer since I have had nothing but bad results from the current one. Very nice folks, but do not take care with your vehicle.

Don’t put to much faith in the TSIB. Problem I have it is very hard to duplicate noise on demand. Need cold weather and right type of road.

from my rear window. Only once heard it in the front.

We are all in the same boat. Sucks.
