Default wheels for stock suspension

As my GS300 is my DD/2nd family car/guest loaner car, I've decided that lowering the car does not really suit the purpose of the vehicle. Therefore, I've decided not to lower it. However, I would like to upgrade my 17" wheels to 18s or 19s.

Just want to get some opinion here. Which would look better for stock suspension height? 18" or 19"? Lip or stock-like no-lip wheels?

I do not intend the car to have any aesthetically sporting pretensions. However, I would like to retain some formal classy looks while doing the wheel upgrade.

Opinions?

do the 19" or 20". If you are not going to lower the car you can fit a 20" wheel with a 255/30/20 and it will look great. All of the lexus dealerships in town use that size all the way around. The dealerships dont do staggered set ups because you cant rotate the tires.

if this is just a DD/2nd familycar/guest loaner car, why even bother having larger wheels? it's not like the other driver will care how you got new wheels for them...in fact, what if they curbed your new wheels? i would be so upset if that happened!

Not really the answer I was looking for. But to answer your question, I still drive the car 90% of the time as a DD/2nd family car and I want something that looks better than the stock 17" wheels. The 10% of the time it fills its role as a guest loaner car, I will put the stock 17" back on.

DO NOT GET 20" WHEELS!!!

it will look like a 4x4.

do as rominl stated......get 18's at most and stay with stock size tires 245/40/18.

OK, fair enough. My recommendation would be to go with OEM 18" wheels. They look nice and could be what you need.

If you don't like OEM wheels, you have a wide choice of styles to pick from, depending on your budget. Work wheels seems to be a popular choice. Choose the 18" wheel that you like best, then check to see if the correct size and offset fitment is available. Good luck.

Just keep it at 18' like others have suggested. It would look weird with 20's without lowering your ride. 18's will keep it close to stock yet still classy. Hope this helps.

Thanks, guys!!! I have actually decided on 18s due to several factors too: lighter wheels, less expensive tires (and lighter too), better ride (compared to 19s), & less chances of rim bending. Lighter weight is important for me as I only have a 245hp 6-cyl engine and I have felt the effects of heavy wheels & tire combo on an underpowered car and how good the car felt after switching to lighter shoes.

BTW, never did I think of going to 20s, specially without lowering. My other choice was only 19s. So there was probably a misunderstanding due to the 2nd post ^^^.

Thanks again, guys!!!
