GS AWD (lowered suspension data)

Good info. The two things I would like to know/see:
1) Someone who has had major vibration issues try swapping buckets or changing axles
2) Adding more fidelity to the reported vibration issues list by including how many miles were on the GS before it was lowered. Perhaps the severity of vibrations increases in direct relation to mileage before lowering.
I have had my BC coils sitting in my closet for over a year, due to my frequent travel schedule. The vibration issues others have reported have also led to my procrastination.

i need driveshaft spacers machined for the GS to fix the AWD vibration problem.
1) i believe ryan is getting new axles installed on his GS. this should work for people that just have lowering springs since the angle wont change anymore (ie from stock to lowered) so the groove that the spyder makes in the bucket will not change.

AMFAB (Amaerican Fabrication) in Prince Frederick or Barstow, MD should be able to do what you are asking. i will try to call later.

i am getting the axles done tomorrow. i am hoping that this corrects the issue. i needed to replace the CV boot due to leaking (40kmi or so since noticed) and the shop recommended replacing the whole axle as a more cost effective solution. evidently there is a lot more shop time needed to do just the boot, where the axle takes roughly 1 - 1.5hrs a side. i was going to wait and see if a spacer fixed the issue, so i could draw out replacing the axles for a little while longer, but i broke a stud test fitting some wheels this past weekend. figured since it was going to be in the shop anyway, i should go ahead and get it done. the new wheels and tires should be on this weekend (hopefully), so i will update how the end result is at that point. if it is noticably better even with the old wheels and tires(not much tread left, who knows if they are still in balance), i will certainly convey.

let me know ryan. how close are you to them? im wondering if they agree to make a set, how we would go about doing so? maybe if you get the axles replace, you can drop off the old ones to them to have them make a set? this way they would have a part they can take dimensions from and test fit.

ok, i talked with AMFAB. they cannot accomodate our needs, but did recommend someone who can. they are in PA, by Gettysburg. Totally Stainless is the name of the company. they deal in custom fabricated parts for the automotive industry, and will do small quantity purchases. they do have a website now - totallystainless.com. i just spoke with the receptionist, and she confirmed that they do custom spacers. is anyone close to Gettysburg that can arrange for a mock up? i'm sure we will need templates and what not before price quotes can be given. maybe the design from the S2K forum will suffice just to get a price quote, but we definitely need some sort of design to move forward. i am not sure if they could come up with one from the vehicle if one was available. Gettysburg is approx 2 1/2 hours from me but id be willing to make the trip if we can solve this. maybe when you get the old axles ryan, ship them up to me and i can make a run out to TS and show them the parts along with the thread from S2K and see what they can come up with.
**EDIT**
now that im thinking about this more, i wonder if just shipping them the axles would be enough along with a link to the thread?
