I'm not buying the axle angle theory. I've been in numerous lowered AWD turbo cars, including Celica GT-Fours of different generations. I used to own an Isuzu Impulse AWD turbo that was slammed on coilovers.

No axle angle issues. Not saying it isn't possible, but I don't think that is it. This axle cup theory seems much more plausible to me.

we may have a possible vendor on board. im keeping my fingers crossed that they will get on board. hopefully we can produce a few just to see if it works, then if it does work we should be able to produce more to fill the demands.

^^ eh, sorry about that. been a hectic weekend. long story short, the axles did not get done. the shop was sent ES, instead of GS axles. the parts people cant seem to find them yet. dont understand that, but oh well. the good news is that i put on my new wheels and tires - 80% of the vibration is gone, if not more. she rides about as good as when i first bought. i'm trying to figure out why the vibrations were so bad; they started when i first dropped the car. i'm guessing it was the wheels....i am going to place them on a friends LS, and see if he has the same problem. i am very pleased with the ride at the moment, especially given how LOW i am. now, if i can just get rid of all the rubbing.....LOL.
a few teasers...will post more once i upload. i think i am at 26 inches top dead center.

normally i would not post pics on a thread like this, but i am so pleased with the fiment of the wheels and feel of the car with the new setup that i feel the need to share
very pleased with how much vibration has gone away just by using quality 'parts'.

update - drove the car to work this morning on the normal roads i travel (traveled different roads on the way back from the shop yesterday, so it was not a good comparison) and did notice some vibration. nothing to drive me crazy, but i still will be doing the axle swap soon. most of the vibration i have i notice during acceleration, though with my previous wheels the vibration was most noticed at cruising speed and decel. as soon as the shop gets the correct parts in and is able to install, i will post the results.
oh - i have continental DWS on the new wheels (225/35/20[F] and 265/30/20[R]). at this point i really like them. more so than the general exclaim UHP's i had previously (245/35/20[F] and 275/30/20[R], and they are only roughly $150 more for the set.

lol. the shop just needs to find the axles, and we're good to go. i may have to get the camber kit that Mike pieced together so i can go lower i really don't want to do the kit though, as at the current ride height my last set of tires lasted 35k mi. i would like to get that out of the tires i have now, but they are inside/outside, not directional. there is no way to rotate to compensate for camber wear. but, guess you have to pay to play. still have to pull the fenders out a bit more. project for the weekend, i guess. lol. car is filthy, and i need some better pics, but as requested....

Ryan, looking forward to your results !. I have a is250awd with the same issues, vibration at idle, at speeds over 40mph and wobble on start off 0-15mph. Riding on bc's also.

Is that $600 estimate for the axles for new one's or re-built units ?.

ps your car looks sick, love that stance.

thanks i would actually like to go lower

i believe that they are new, but i do not know. i will ask the shop when i get the call that they have located the parts. i may stop by today on the way home. i will say that with the new wheels being much better quality, that my vibrations are very minimal at the moment. car rides like a dream, until i hit major bumps. dampening is set to 15 from soft, which is a bit more firm than i would like. i will shred my tires if i soften it though. need to file down a bit more and pull a bit more, then hopefully i can get the results i want.
my vibrations are during acceleration only now, at any speed, but they are minimal. none at cruising or decel. the vibrations at idle have always been there, but i just put it in neutral and all is well.
