Default air suspension question

I wanted to know im planing on getting air suspension on my gs300 awd.

I wanted to know how many psi does a air suspension system run?.... If i run hose thats rated for 300psi will that be enough? or will i Blow a line?

I went to a hydro shop in my city and priced out stainless steel lines at 6.50$ a foot and ill need 50 feet = 350$ but this hose is rated at 1200psi

the other choice was rubber hose at 1.21$ a foot x 50 feet = under 60$ and is rated at 300psi

Air suspension runs shocks at 70-110 lbs a corner , tank is at 175 for 5 gallons usually.
Anythign more than a 200 lb rating is overkill as all rating are a test line for about half since it takes double that pressure to make it blow.
Air suspension hose is all over the web for next to nothing.

^^ even 70-110 is very high. my previous car had air ride and the max they say to fill the bags are around 110psi and riding at that high is rock hard and you bounce on everything. i averaged about 30-35psi in the fronts and 45psi in the rear and it rode smooth.

perfect thats what i thought. I have just been reading on forums that sum cars run 500+ psi which i found out was for trucks that where made to hop. I live in edmonton so ill just get the hydro shop to make me the custom hoses with all the right fittings instead of making them myselfs

you dont need custom hoses unless you really want them. i ran plastic lines for 3 1/2 years through winter and all and they were ran outside the car, not inside. i never had a problem. those plastic lines are really strong and most come dot approved. if you need some hook ups on air ride parts let me know. i can get you some good prices on lines, fittings, valves etc...

just make sure you run a water trap with your setup.

I am reading online that i should use 3/8 inch line to keep the air flow high but the drop speed average. If i run 1/2 inch line then the drop speed is fast and the air flow is high..amd i correct?

depends what you use for your fills and dumps. i was running 3/8" for everything including the valves. the bigger line you go with the quicker the air is going to get to the bag so the quicker it will fill and dump. you can always use say 1/2" fill line with a 1/4" dump line out the valve so it will dump a little slower.

also keep in mind the closer you put the valve to the bag, the quicker it fills because the air has less distance to travel. honestly though, its not really enough to worry about (atleast for me it wasnt).

theres a lot of different options you can do with air ride. theres all kinds of different size lines and valves and different ways to use it.
