Default Video of Ichiba 20mm Spacers being installed.

Hey guys,

I should have listened to some of the members who advised me against going for anything above 15mm for the stock GS460 wheels. However, it does seem inevitable that the more expensive solution of going for after market wheels is the only way forward.

I really just wanted an aggressive stance on stock setup, but that's turning out to be a headache.

I first purchased the TS Sportline 25mm spacers and was getting terrible shaking above 50mph.

I then decided to go 20mm and pulled the trigger on a set of Ichiba's from B2autodesigns. HOwever, I still get shaking ( much less than the previous spacers ) at 70mph and above.

I don't know whether it's just the fact that the GS460 will not accept any increase in axle width, or maybe these spacers are just not good enough???

My springs will arrive soon, and I cant stand the fact that I might need to go back to stock offset. I simply do not want to change my wheels... I like the stock ones.

I want you guys to see the video i took of the spacers installed at the shop, and tell me if the moving around of the hub ring on the spacer inside

I can't see why simply increasing an offset would cause shaking? It's probably more to do with the spacers causing the wheels to not fit perfectly on the hub, no? Like, one or more of the wheels is off-center just a little bit so the wheel doesn't spin in a perfect circular motion but more of a slight oval orbit.

It's a shame, your car is beautiful the way it was - I wouldn't trade a bit of a wider stance for any level of ride discomfort myself.

The shaking, almost positive is due to the spacer. If the spacer is not hub centric it will shake a lot. Even a little bit loose will cause some nasty shaking.

It's definitely your spacer. The hub ring should not be loose like that. Defeats the purpose of being 'hub-centric'. If the spacers aren't properly balanced as well, you will find shaking too.

thought that those spacers were so expensive because they re made to be hub centric to the car, did you buy them used?

I was considering getting the 20 mm spacers also for my car and I thought that as long as they are hub centric they will not cause any problem. Am I mistaken in my understanding? Help a fellow member out before I drop some money on these.
Thanks.

Man I feel for you. I remember when I just got my car I had a set of Asantis that vibrated like crazy after dropping 5300 dollars. At least in your case the fix will be a cool set of 20" wheels

Out of all the Ichiba spacers I have sold. This is the first time I have seen or heard of this. These spacers are hub-centric to the lexus application.

Can you explain more about how the "moving around of the hub ring on the spacer inside
" please. Also if you take the spacers of does the Vibration go away?

Thanks
Charles

i don't see any video, but if spacers are hub centric, when you put it on the hub, it shouldn't move at all (pretty tight). same when you put the wheels on

I dont see video as well.. But I just installed 25mm on my 2IS hub centric yesterday with no vibration whatsoever.. You better recheck if it was properly installed.

Another thing when installing is, were the hubs properly torqued to the hub? Then, were your wheels properly torqued to the spacers?
