I asked them if they have the lated updated bushings, and he said they do, but that they are still polyurethane bushings and do need to be greased regularly to ensure they remain in good shape. Is that correct?
that's good your dealership is doing the right thing

on poly bushings, yes, that's correct. well, at least from my experience. grease it from time to time when the previous grease wear out. depends on how often your area rains

I think it's still up in the air about the material the bushings are made from. It looks like and sort of feels like polyurethane but Lexus calls it a "Special high durometer dry lube impregnated rubber bushings". Also, their instructions do not require you to lube the bushings when installing. So becareful with lubing it. The wrong type of lube can eat away at the rubber or polyurethane... whatever it is.

Regular greasing/lubing of polyurethane bushings is mainly used for quieting squeaky polyurethane bushings. For the 10-11 months I've had the f-sport sway bars... I haven't heard any squeaky type of noises.

I just emailed him this question. It is quite late on east coast now so I may get the answer tomorrow.

Leeladisky - I'd love to hear your take on this? My sense is you are the only active 460 driver on the forum with these sways?

I installed the sways on my 2008 GS460 and what a big difference cornering! New bushing have arrived but not yet installed. Can't wait to eliminate the clunking noises. Otherwise, no problems with the install. Wish they made sways for the RX350!

Right... maybe Lexus doesn't want anyone to figure out that AVS sux compared to the sway bar upgrade.

Thanks PCClarkccg for the GS460 perspective and to Sprintz and all the others who weighed in. This seems like a compelling upgrade. And I have a Lexus dealer on board for the install so I should get full warranty support.

Btw how many hours did you guys pay for install? Dealer is quoting me 654 for parts and 112 for install. This seems high on parts (Sewell has rwd gs sways for 389) but low on labour doesn't it?

Also Designo and Rider - are you guys going to join me with the sways on your 460s?

654 for sways?!?! that's way way way too expensive, doesn't make sense. buy your sways and bring them over yourself.

112 for labor is actually pretty good, it sounds about an hour for installation, which i think is very reasonable.

imho they were trying to pull you one, telling you good labor rate but rip you off on the parts. just go back and tell them you will take their 112 install price, but you will bring over your parts. as long as you have invoice and part numbers on boxes stating this is the fsport sways, they have to honor the warranty

You should add a blower to your list. A good forced induction system should get your car up to 400hp.

Waiting for feedback! Seems like the sways are a good investment.

Any other brands other than FSport?

That's what I did, and Sewell in my town: I bought the part from them (by far the cheapest), but they wanted over $500 to do the install. Another Lexus dealership "just down the road" offered to install just over $200, so I just handed the part over to that dealership.
