coilovers are adjustable, lowering springs arent. thats the basics of it.

you can get a decent set of fully adjustable coilovers for like 700 bucks new. ksport and megan coilovers are fairly cheap. BCRs are a little more expensive but i love the way my BCRs handle.

I have a set of Tein CST Coil-Overs on my 06 GS300 and absolutely love em. I can't tell too much of a difference in ride quality although it is clearly stiffer. But the trade-off is more responsive handling which is something I really like.
