Default TTE Suspension

I recently purchased the TTE Suspension kit from Sewell. It came with the struts, springs, and locking adjustment "screws". I was curious as to whether it was for our 3gs, so I emailed Darrel. This was his response:

"Yes, the AM27570 is specific to the 2006 and newer GS."

I was super excited and went off installing them on my next day off. Come to find out, as soon as I took the jack stands from underneath the car and lowered the vehicle down, I was in much disbelief. The car now sits HIGHER then stock!!! And this is on the lowest sitting!!

After some GOOGLE'in. I found this picture...

Can anyone confirm for sure if the part number "AM27570" is for the 2GS or 3GS?? Darrel seems to be very hard to contact now...

Do you have some pics? From my research the 2gen & 3gen do not share the same suspension parts. The 1gen IS300 & 2gen GS share the same suspension parts just like the 2gen ISx50 and 3gen GS do.

Im unaware of TTE making parts for the 3gen GS but I never did research them. Darrel is a stand up guy and will help you out.

TTE does make parts for 3GS. LeeLadisky is running TTE Springs on his GS460 and he said the ride height was lower.

this might be stupid to ask, but you sure the springs are seated correctly, and you didn't mix up the front/rear springs?

That thought actually crossed my mind when I was installing, but after I took off my rear suspension, I knew for sure the longer struts goes to rear. And the longer springs would follow suit. The struts up front has the threads much higher, so if I had installed those on the rear, It would have been even higher.

maybe i'm confused by this picture but did this come pre-assembled? only reason i ask is because it looks as if there is a top at between the spring and the adjustable perch

^ The product description does say this suspension is height adjustable, and the OP said that he had it on the lowest setting.

understood but my question is, why is there a top hat on the bottom of the set up or what seems to be a top hat?

whatever it is, its upside down anyway. if it does belong on the bottom it needs to be flipped over. the part resting on the perch should be facing up and the spring will go over that and sit on the wider part.

it's the spring "seat". it's not upside down. you can't see it on the picture, but on the reverse side is a notch for the end of the spring to rest into. the bottom side is flat and the top side is tapered.

can someone help me verify if the part number "AM27570" is for the 2GS or 3GS?

Here's pictures of that part..

i could be totally wrong here, but when i googled it, seems like TTE AM27570 S16 belongs to (second generation model) --> JZS160.. 3rd generation is TTE S19? as Passnu2 mentioned, prob they are not interchangeable or not the right parts..
