rear tire wearing out after lowering?
hello everyone!
have anyone here had any issue with rear tire wearing out evenly but faster than the front wheel after lowering your car with tannabe springs? I have a 2013 gs350 f sport AWD. I put new wheels and tires in may and by sept the back was wore out evenly. it look like I had slick tires at the back and regular in the front. I only put 4500 kilometers during this period. I'm not a racer driver. i'm more of cruising driver. we also did a wheel alignment and we are in the range of the lexus parameter.
I need help to solve this issue. lexus have no idea why this happen. I can't afford to buy new set of tires every summer. my car is put away for winter but I want to solve this before next spring.
thank you for any reply to this thread.

my tire specs are 285/30zr20 99y on rear and 245/35zr20 95y on front. the rubber type is falkan 453. here are some pics of the tires at the back and front.

Are the wear ratings on the two tire sizes the same? I know that Michelin has different wear ratings for the same tire size sometimes.

Its not good to have different size tires on an AWD. its going to put a lot of stress on the drive train especially when your turning. I agree with SNiiP3R most likely the tire wear is the result of the incorrect tire size.

This is a really strange problem you're having. Normally lowering the car does not cause such excessive wear. With good alignment you should easily get 15,000 mi / 24,000 kl out of your tires. So, lowering is not an issue.
Question, have you checked the air pressure? An overinflated tire can sometimes wear out like that.
