How easy is it to adjust the height on coilovers
I just had a set of J5 coilovers installed on my AWD. From what the shop told me, it's not a simple task to adjust the ride height, especially in the rear.
If that's the case, then was it really worth it to get adjustable coilovers? Seems to me that defeated the purpose of going coils versus a straight set of lowering springs.
How's everyrone's experience so far with their coilover setup? Had you had to adjust the height yourself? Is it something that you were able to do easily or did you have to bring it back to the shop for the adjustment?
Any other owners running J5 coils care to share their experience?
Thanks!

You can easily adjust the fronts.
Can't say the same about the rear. The rear shocks can be adjusted, but not by much. If you really need to raise or drop the rear (by an inch or so), then you have no other choice but to drop the rear control arms again. Since you would need to get to the spring perch to adjust it. Unfortunately, the design of the suspension does not allow us to easily adjust the rear on this car.
Coilovers are still a better choice. With springs you are stuck with one height and and 2 levels of damping, some people don't even have that luxury and they are stuck with just normal mode. With Coilovers you can adjust the damping to your liking, which I think is a big plus.

The J5's are great actually. The ride feels good still after the drop. Along with the AVS compatibility, I can still select S+ when I want to stiffen it up a bit more.
The initial lowered height was about a 1 finger gap all the way around but it was a little too low for me. I had some scrapes and bumps that was a little concerning.
I had them raise the height to about a 2 finger gap over the weekend. The shop offered one free ride adjustment so that was it. Any adjustment after this will cost $ so that's why I posted this. That's too bad about the rear control arms.
