incredible. Happy hitching.
Looks great. I wonder if this would fit a TX500, I think the bumper on the TX500 is lower. Any chance you can measure from the top bolt to the top of the hitch receiver.

Hi hperez, there is like 2 3/4 inches from the top bumper to the top of the hitch. There is like 3/4 from the bottom of the bumper to the top of the hitch and there is like 5 inches from the center of the screw to the top of the hitch. I tried to upload some photos but I couldn't.

One more question, does this interfere with the rear door kick sensor? Thanks again,

I don't use mine but I did test it and it works. Be aware that on its own that is not a straight forward operation,so practice. Make sure that once it beeps that you move back quickly.

I can second the Curt hitch. Mine finally arrived today and was on the car about 10 minutes later. Solo install even. It doesn't look quite as good as the OEM, but is hundreds cheaper.

The OEM is crazy pricey if you can find it. Priced at $1,390 compared to the curt for $250 without the hardness which should be cheap. For bike rackers like me that don't need the hardness, there is no comparison.

Default Hitch Option for Lexus TX350 AWD

When we first purchased our Lexus TX350 AWD (October, 2023), we were told by the dealership that the hitch was not yet released and that they could install once that became available. Now that the hitch and harness has become available, the dealership where we purchased this vehicle is quoting us $2,800 for material and installation. The hitch and harness show on Lexus website to be approximately $400. I realize the OEM installation requires bumper work, but that still sounds too high. Anybody else getting this high of a quote?

We did look into an alternative with a local hitch vendor with solid reviews: Curt 13519 with wiring harness. Price with installation is $495 +tx. We do see that this hitch was referenced earlier in this post and seems to work well. At this time, we do not own a camper/trailer, but want the ability to do so when/if that time comes. The hitch will be located below the bumper and visible, and we have no problem with that, especially if it provides for $2,300 cost savings.

Buy the Curt, it takes 15 minutes to install it and it’s $275 bucks. If you need lights later, they can be installed. The hitch is fantastic. Look at the videos.

To retrofit the OEM route you've gotta get at least:
Tow Hitch Reciever w/ Wire Harness PT974-48240 $400
Kick Sensor PT83P-48240-AB $80
Bracket. Kick Sensor. "PT413-48240-AB / PT413-48240-AA" $42.02 (Need both?)
Towing Hitch Bumper Cover. Tow Hitch. PT938-48242 $230
Receiver Tube Hitch Cover. Activity Mount. PT974-78221 $6
Relay Assembly Lamp Control Pt725-48241 $110
Total: $868 (or more)

There might be the actual bumper itself missing from that list--and who knows if it has paint codes or you gotta have it paint-matched. I now forget all this and can't be bothered to look it back up!

Still showing ~$2000 for labor by that math, but even the parts are WAY more expensive than Curt.

I ended up negotiating the OEM tow hitch with my purchase. Took a bit for the dealership to get all the parts since it was a relatively new car. However, I think the wait was worth it as I appreciate the OEM look and like the flush look with the tow hitch bumper skirt.

It fits the TX 500 h, I have installed the wire harness and it was simple: 2nd row cup holder and driver’s side rear bumper
i Installed the Curt 13519 and did not have to replace the bumper cover because I do not see a need unless you use the kick sensor

The integrated OEM tow hitch is so nice looking especially on the 500H and my decision is made. Thanks for sharing!

Default TX 500h hitch

Update:: I have a TX 500h
i installed the Curt 13519 I ordered it from Trailerjack.com I paid $352.00 with taxes and free shipping to Hawaii. It included the complete wire harness. Is a bit much but you could try Amazon
I installed the hitch in about 1 hr single handed and installed the wiring in 10 minutes because I made sure it is clean looking

wiring is pretty straightforward just like the Grand Highlander, rear driver’s side panel cup holder and rear corner bumper. I didn’t have to removed the bumper but the plug is there within reach
