TX 550h+ Is Available to be Built
The car configurator for the TX 550h+ is out.
https://www.lexus.com/build-your-lex...65/buildId/110
It is only $5,400 over a Luxury TX500h, which is not as bad as I anticipated. It weighs 430lb more than a 500h Luxury (1,000 lbs more than base 350 2wd!) and has only a 14.5 gallon gas tank. I assume the larger battery takes up some space, and it needed a smaller tank.

The smaller tank is probably due to weight considerations not space. The more the car weighs, the less range. Should've put a slightly larger battery to truly compete with the Germans (both GLE 450e and X5 50e have 24.7 kWh batteries), but that would probably have pushed it over $80K (will it qualify for a tax credit?). The tank is the same size tank as in the NX+ and RX+.
