Hi all, I just purchased a new 500h and am finding my mileage is coming in at a disappointing 18-19 MPG. I’ve only put 100 miles on the car so maybe there’s a break in period for the hybrid system? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’ve been driving in eco mode and have been really light on the gas pedal.

Came here to ask the same thing. We're over 700 miles in and have the same issue. Should have calibrated by now.
Also are you finding the gas tank seems smaller than advertised? When I'm on E it only fills up about 13 gallons.

filled up 14 times and haven’t been able to get more then 13 gallons as well. I filled up with single digits miles left. Also Avg mpg around 22. This is my 5th hybrid so I am familiar with how to modulate the pedal to get better mileage. This is really disappointing.

Someone will chime in and say don’t let your gas get low so to keep your fuel pump cool but I have a 227k Toyota I’ve done this on and never touched its fuel pump. I even intentionally ran out to test its reserve limit although I had gas with me. When you get to the reserve portion be mindful of driving habits to somewhat gauge how much further you can go. Example if I’m driving a 15mpg vehicle and I know in my mind I have 4 gallons left, I will comfortably drive another 35-40 miles maybe less if it’s a lot of stop and go before I refuel if I’m trying to stretch it out.
In short the DTE is very conservative. If you try this, report back so others can learn. Aside from a couple trial and error, that’s how I learned on other vehicles I have.

As to the gas tank, the stated capacity for my model is 17.2 gal, I've rolled into gas stations with 0 miles left and never hit the 15 gal fill mark, so I think the above estimates of having a couple of gallons left even when the range is showing 0 miles is accurate.

I have a '21 RX450h (V6 not 4 cyl), 50K miles (bought new), it's rated 30/28/31 mpg, and I never got more than 25 mpg... I don't drive that fast either, probably 1/2 city and 1/2 highway, not in either Sport mode, always doing all the required maintenance and using 93 premium gas, even though I had been using Costco gas (which I just realized it's up to 10% ethanol and some people have said that this will decrease your mpg, as well as put more wear and tear on the engine) but recently changed to Shell 93 (supposedly the best mix) but no real mpg improvements... I've heard the same complaint regarding stated mpg and actual mpg from many others... I think the stated mpg estimates are inflated...

And I concur so DTE is not accurate.

it definitely should. i saw around 22 within the first 500 miles on my TX 350. make sure the tire pressure is set correctly. mine was low by about 4 psi on delivery. are you using premium fuel?

My TX 500h has 7,000 miles on it now and I’ve already taken it in for the 5,000 service with Lexus. I mentioned the mpg but they said it should get better. It is currently at 17.8 we drive on eco mode and regular mode
its frustrating I just got went to Lexus after dealing with 3 Chevy Tahoes that eventually ended up being lemon lawed. I just don’t even want to go through this with Lexus. That’s why I made the switch!

i totally agree i had the nx hybrid and was at 27.5 which was a little low to marketing but only by .5 mpg. I am getting 368 to a full tank its saying 24/25 mpg on the gauge yet the calculation to the 17.2 gallon tank is more like 20.4 im calling immediately to thw corporate office
