I've had a pretty good experience so far. I had an initial problem with my third-row seat not folding completely flat (lump toward the center), but it hasn't recurred.

We are in "late" Aug 2024.

For those waiting on TX, looking like close to Jan/Feb 2025 (this is from word of mouth by Lexus factory rep that was at local dealership in Raleigh region).

If we are going into early part of 2025, then the model year 2025 will be also competing with the gluttony of 2024's everywhere, in dealer lot, at the port, at the factory from being already built and not yet transported to the regional port.

I don't mind getting the 2024, if a substantial "discount" can be had while 2025 is getting started with the Indiana factory reopening late October/early November, just for that purpose. So, that tells me that Lexus (and Toyota for GH) knows how to fix this in 2025 model year. But supposedly dragging their feet on 2024 model year TX (and GH).

And also the same factory rep is saying the "outlook" of this recall fix CANNOT be done at the local dealership service techs (really ??? Even the LX/Tundra sub-blocks and long-block fiasco is being handled at the local service dept) hence the Lexus dealership is being told to prepar to "ship" the TX's to the regional "port" which for my region would be in Atlanta apparently.

So, what the hell is going to happen to "existing" TX owners? They TX's will get shipped to port to get this recall fixed?

What a damn mess.

I'm just wondering, why hassle with 2024 when 2025 is right around the same time.

There have been around 130 thousand GH/TX sold in 2023/2024 combined. Given how this is dragging on, it looks like it could cost Toyota a ton to fix it, not to mention the reputation damage.

this is insanity. there must be something significantly wrong with the vehicles if they can't "fix the recall" at a dealership. sounds like a structural issue more than an airbag deployment issue. regardless of what happens lexus/toyota will do the right thing for their customers. this will be interesting to see what happens to say the least though...

Agree. This could start to hit their stock price hard if they can't get it figured out. 130 thousand vehicles * $55 thousand is around $7 billion in revenue. Any substantial repair/buyback could really rock the stock.

I ordered mine in May with a delivery date in late June…then while “In transit” the stop sale occurred. I’m hearing nothing more than maybe October from the dealership. At this point,, I’m thinking bag the ‘24 and wait for a ‘25…… unless they make a deep discount on the delayed ‘24’s. Been thinking

Thoughts on ‘24 price reduction and what ‘25 prices will be? Personally, I feel the ‘25 should not be one penny more than than the ‘24’s given this major snafu/delay.

I think your reasoning is sound. I think the TX is a good value, despite whaat some of the pundits say in comparing it to Toyota Grand Highlander. There are many subtle differences between the TX and the GH (like extra stabilizers in the frame for the TX, plastic wheel covers on many GH models, etc.). I think of it like comparing Space Mountain to a generic mousetrap roller coaster, or Tower of Terror vs. a drop zone type ride, or Splash Mountain vs. a log flume. Yeah, they are the same ride, at their core, but they are different.

Not considering the Grand Highlander…at this point I’m hoping to land a ‘25 TX this winter for the price I had negotiated for the ‘24 TX that is still sitting in the Princeton, IA lot awaiting the airbag fix.

Definitely wait for 25 GH or TX, all those 2024 are going to auction or 3rd party as after they are fixed dealers will not be selling them. As 25 even though will be the same shape design they will have different structural supports, I don't know the details but this is what is being told at factory as production hasn't even started. If you have 2024 I know there recall fix, but I would seriously put pressure for buy back, as they have bought back tremendous amount as well and with enough escalation it should be achievable.

Keeping my 2015 RX350 until quality control steps up. May look again in 2026.
