panoramic view monitor on Lexus UX 300h

Agreed. I decided to go Lexus for the styling and refined ride. I could have gotten more value and equipment with the Prius. I went with a 300h Premium; the only thing I miss is the memory seats and Pano cam...

It’s so weird how manufacturers decide which options to allow in various markets. It appears that Lexus doesn’t want the “most you can pay” price on the UX to be too high, so they don’t permit certain options in the US. I get that if the options required certification in the US (fuel economy and such), but if the option is offered in other markets, I don’t see the harm in making it available to order in the US.
We used to have a Mercedes GLK, and you could get ventilated seats in certain markets, but not in the US. This was particularly vexing because Mercedes, more so than Lexus, allows a la carte ordering of vehicles. Why not just permit someone to spec it out the way they want it! If the options are available elsewhere?

rules, regulations, and decades-old, antiquated legislation. Its why our headlights in the US suck. Not until the infrastructure bill did some of that change for the better At the end of the day its all about $$ and the upsell

While I agree with you as to headlights, pano monitor is not affected by any US regulations. Totally a Lexus decision.
