Default Frustration over Sound System

I’m not really fond of the fact that you can’t get the upgraded Lexus/Pioneer sound system unless you get the navigation package. The only problem is that dealers in my area aren’t ordering any UX’s with the navigation package because they believe no one wants it. They firmly believe that customers would rather use CarPlay.

Be that as it may, buyers like myself would expect a decent sound system in a $40k luxury car, especially when more and more mainstream manufacturers offer Bose, Harmon Kardon; even Ford is offering B&O on some of their newer crossovers.

For new UX owners on this forum, was the navi package something that was equipped on UX models on the lot at the time of purchase? Just wondering if I may have to go the special order route, which I’ve read isn’t as easy as one would think.

Also, does anyone know if there will be any changes made to how options (like Navi/audio) will be packaged for the 2020 MY?

Thanks

The options on the UX 250h models in my area (NYC) are baffling to me, too. There was basically no way to get an upgraded sound system, navigation (not that I really needed this), power folding mirrors (if you live in NY and street park... helpful!), or a power liftgate. I ended up just taking what was available, but I agree that the readily available options are puzzling.

I just leased mine this week and checked pretty much every dealer within 100 miles, FYI.

Probably no changes for the MY2020. If it's anything like the CT, they probably won't mess with the packaging a lot. I wish we could get the ML system that the EU and the Japanese version has.

I was going to get the non-nav unit but the lack of 2 additional speakers (centers and sub) was a turn off. Plus the Matte screen on the non-nav looks very 90ish. The Nav unit only cost me $10 more on my lease payment.
