Default Highway road noise. Any fix?

Love the car, just one issue. The wind road nosies when I drive above 60 mph is SUPER noticable.

Anyone has a fix?

Wind noise there is very little that can be done besides checking all rubber seals are aligned and make proper contact. If door/seals are off ever so slightly, that can make the difference...

If you are referring to road (tire) noise, I've used sound mats (varying brands) on past cars with some good results, applied in the front beneath the carpet from the wheel well to the driver/passenger floor pan.

Bumping this thread.

It's been almost 3 months of driving the UX. The highway noise is unbearable, it sounds like i'm on a plane. I brought it to a dealership and was told this is normal.
I captured this video last night driving 70mph. Does your UX also sounds like this on the highway? i am trying to see what we can do to reduce the noise, or maybe there's some manufacturer defect.
Appreciate you all helping me with this.

IDK if that's normal for your chassis, but that's crazy loud! What kind of tires are you on? Like the previous poster mentioned, sound deadening mats can help. I used Dynamat in the doors of my last car and swapped out the wheels and tires. Night/day difference.

They are stock tires, Brigestone Turanza El450 18".
Just a reminder this is a brand new car, 2019 model. Are other UX owners having the same problem as me? I see people installing deadening mats on a decade old car, but this is a brand new Lexus.

As for swapping out tires, i would hate to waste 3 months old tires that are in perfect condition.

Basically if all UX owners are having the same problem as me, i will probably learn to live with it. Is it possible it was a manufacturer defect? Insulation not put in, weatherstripping not put in properly? is that possible?

I have the same tires as you, EL450's and I don't experience that on my 250H (2019 as well - F Sport)
I had a LS460 right before my UX and obviously I knew the comfort level was not going to be anywhere near the LS, however the noise your experiencing seems off, not normal.

Mine's a 2019 Hybrid F Sport and I don't think mine is loud at all. It could be an individual's sensitivity to sounds. It's certainly quieter than my 2015 NX 200t that I had, but louder than my older RX (which was the quietest of the bunch). On my UX, I do have the Active Sound Control turned on most of the time (99%), because I like the augmented sound..

Mine is just the 2019 UX 250H with sunroof. I wonder if they added sound deadening for the F Sport models.
If other 2019 UX 250H owners can chime in, that would be great.

Thanks

We have the 2019 UX250h Fsport with sunroof, we rarely drive without the radio off, we usually listening to tunes, have you tried shutting the sunroof sunshade and playing tunes?

I also have a sienna mini van with sunroof and that is louder than the ux on the highway.

The sunroof sunshade is always shut. Beside playing music, the dealership also advised me to not drive slower, so there's less road noise.
Everyone has the Fsport here? Anyone with the regular UX 250H can comment on the roadnoise?

It's either different soundproofing done between the regular 250H and the F Sport model, or the unit i got has some issues.

Car and Driver actually tested the UX to be quieter than the new Lexus ES. 68db @ 70 mph cruising vs. 70db for the ES.

This is good. There's definitely something wrong with my car then. The model tested is exactly what i have.
Thanks so much for the info. I will go to the dealership once again and have another test.

The UX does not have luxury-car levels of refinement and sound deadening. It is an entry level Lexus. It also comes with run-flat tires which are VERY loud and VERY stiff. You have no spare tire, so swapping to non run-flat tires that don't drone on the highway is kind of a risk.

I disagree. My UX is quieter than my NX.

Update: Db reading at 72db driving 70mph. Tested with a proper db meter.
Almost 4db difference compared to the CarandDriver track sheet.
