From looking at it, I'll take a guess. I'd carefully remove the silver trim piece around the button. There's probably a screw under it that secures the **** to the post.

I thought about it, but I scared. Lol. The whole idea of having buttons right next to the cup holder is a bad idea. Idiots taco bell employee handed me an over filled drink dripping all over the cup holder area and made it all sticky. Got in through the buttons. Now it's super sticky in there. Well, I'm glad that guy doesn't work there anymore. What a goon, such a sloppy worker.

Took ok the silver pieces out and no exposed screws inside. Still held in place.

Parts diagram was not helpful, no clues. Maybe push and twist, pull up and twist? Also try pushing in the button while pull up or pushing down.

Sorry, I was actually referring to the button on the shifter. I thought you just wanted to replace the **** itself.

Thanks for posting this helpful diagram idleninjaz.
I am trying to remove the shift lever soft boot sub-assembly. Do you also have a diagram which shows how to do this?

Thanks again

The boot cover is held onto the panel with 4 screws which can be accessed once the whole panel is removed.

Question how to complete the **** removal?

I removed the shift lever **** lock button (4 pieces), but the shift lever **** is still firmly in place???
Are there any further instructions to fully remove the ****?

update: not very clear in step b of the Removal Procedure diagram, but a* Clip is a wire/metal clip with secures the plastic shift **** to the metal transmission floor shift assembly.
Gentle pressure to the left, as shown in step b, will release the clip from the groove which holds the plastic shift **** firmly in place. The **** can be removed easily by pulling up once the wire/metal clip clears the recessed groove on the metal transmission shift shaft.

Thanks for posting this helpful diagram idleninjaz.
