Android auto auto launch on UX 250h
Hi,
I got a 2021 ux250h recently. The android auto on it is cool and all, but I have an issue with it. It seems like it does not launch on the car screen automatically when I connect my phone through usb. Rather, I have to go into menu>projection and select android auto for it to come up. Is there any way to make it start automatically as soon as I plug it in?
Thanks

Hi, I have the AA 6.2.610914 version installed to my android phone and I have turned on the Auto-Launch feature. I use it every day and the only time it starts automatically is when the last time I have used it, instead of turning it off I just turn off the engine while AA is running. The next time I plug in my phone to the dedicated usb port and turn on the engine, AA starts automatically.

Hi, I recently installed a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) BE-00380L-TME/Version 2/4-Feb-2021 which addressed very successfully the problem of not automatically launch Android Auto, see attached photo's.
If you are an advanced user and you know your way around updating software, similar to android phones, you can do it your self via lexus.tech.eu or the relevant for US, if not ask your dealer to installed it for you at the next service.
It cost me 4€ for 1 hour Online Viewing Subscription to download the TSB and about 15minutes to perform the update following the very detailed instructions at the page of the relevant TSB.

It's for the Head Unit of the car (DCU update), there are two types of updates regarding our car multimedia device, the DCU (Display Control Unit) and the MEU (Multimedia Extension Unit), ask for the upgrade TSB_BE-00380L-TME at your local Lexus, they know how to install it, it 's not an android auto update of our phones!
