Went out to start car, nothing, nothing at all.
Checked voltage of battery after finding it, and it was 12 volts. Before checking battery I tried both keys and nothing, including no "key not present or detected" or whatever it says, just nothing.
But after touching the battery and testing it, the car started and went back to normal.
I will take it to dealer, but has anyone had this experience?
2021 UX 250H
(drove it for a bit, the hybrid battery was at 3 bars and went to 4 after driving a bit)
Also i think the headlights switch was not on auto but on DLR...
Will the headlights stay on indefinitely if you leave them on and not on auto? Will they be turned off in a few minutes if you accidentally leave them on? Since the battery tested good I dont think this had anything to do with it, but I need to know for future use.

Yes, it was in park.
and what are the headlight settings on the stick? If you have it on DLR does that mean the lights wont go on automatically? I wish I could find a section in the manual about that.
having it on AUTO is what I usually do, the daylight running lights are ON in that case and everything is automatic.
Maybe it was one of those deals where the gear shift wasn't perfectly in park, hoping that is all it was.

Was the battery exactly at 12v. A good battery would read between 12.4-13.4v. Anything less will have issues.
The headlights will automatically turn off after, I don't remember how long after the car shuts down, if its in any position besides AUTO.

thanks for responding, the only thing I can think is maybe wasn’t perfectly in Park and jiggling that made it happen I’m not sure
it’s not like it tried to start but wouldn’t start, absolutely nothing happened when you get inside the car nothing on the dash lighted up, and I thought I read somewhere that when you get in the car and you have a key with you a message will appear on the screen that it recognizes a key but I don’t get that message even now when everything is back to normal.

I have never seen it tell you that you have a key in the car. It does tell you if you don't have the key in the car while it is running.

Took to dealer, he said my battery was no good. Brand new car. Hope that is all it is. They put a new one in.
I did not know that the 12v battery the car uses that all cars use, not the hybrid battery, is NOT the same as 12v batteries in non hybrids.
That if you wanted one from Costco, for instance, not gonna happen....Called them, they said yes they are different and they dont carry them.

This has happened in my car 3 times. The first time, I thought it must have been user error even though I had the car for more than a year. I called roadside had my car jumped. It was good for the rest of day. The next day (5/31 however there was a light show on the dashboard as I attempted to start my car but it never started and eventually all the lights went out. I had it towed to the dealer. Several days later they said they could not recreate the problem and gave me back my car. Then on 7/30, the same thing happens. And I took video of it. Car was in the dealer for 8 days finally they battery (12 volt) failed the test. So I have a "donor" battery until a new battery can be delivered.

I believe hybrid vehicles (at least that was the case for my CT200H before I later on got the UX), require AGM as opposed to lead-acid batteries (the ones you most commonly find in local retail stores).
