Default Someone backed into my bumper.

There is a damaged area about 4"x4" - no structural damage - just a dented in area and most of the material is still there. Can this type of plastic be repaired without me having to buy an entire new cover?

This is the damaged area.

Pics!

Depending on how bad the damage is and where, plastic bumper covers can be repaired it's similar to metal panels. Fill, sand, fill, prime, paint. Problem is over time the repair can crack even if the back of the bumper is reinforced/patched. Best to replace the bumper cover outright.

If the cover is only pushed it can be pressed out and look fine.

If there are no creases, maybe you can pop it out with a toilet plunger?

Looks like fibre reinforced plastic but doesn't matter that piece is not painted has to be replaced. Good news is the part is not expensive way less than getting body work.

Getting it repaired at a body shop - $377 and I don't have to mess with anything. It looks like there is a sensor near the damage and I would rather have them be responsible for fooling with that.

Edit - they are replacing the damaged section, not repairing the existing part.
