Thats alot of miles. How is the battery holding up? Do you experience any difference in engine noise now compared to when it was new? I have a 2021 and around 22k miles. Averaging 42.3. Majority of my drives are from Brooklyn to Ct to pick up my daughter every other weekend.

The car drives perfect. Since I don’t have anyway to check the battery health, I assume it’s probably fine. My last vehicle was a RX with 300k, so I expect this one to last just as long.

I’ve got a 23 ES300h (looking at maybe a UX for wife) and in mostly heavy traffic I get around 42mpg in our mild winter. It’s a bigger 2.5L engine also.

My previous car was also a 2.5 hybrid but I also drive sort of fast. Not sure why OP’s mileage is so low. Maybe you’re cranking the climate control heater up with medium to high fan requiring the ICE engine to run a lot? I feel like the seat heaters and steering wheel in my car allow me to run the climate control heater lower if at all which helps me save gas as the engine doesn’t need to continually reheat the coolant for the heater.

New 2023 UX 250h. Already averaging around 43 in Florida driving in Normal mode. Very pleased.

Are you keeping the engine running while parked for long? Having the car doing 0mpg for extended periods of time alters your fuel economy figures.

Nope. It must be the 2 hrs+ of stop and go I put it through on my commute. I only go deep on the throttle to get up to highway speed on the rare occasion there’s light traffic.

My 2021 did most of last summer 5.3-5.4 l/100 km or 43-44 mpg. The lowest in the winter was 7 l/100km or 33 mpg. I run AC and in the winter the seat and steering wheel heaters, plus remote start if needed. My average speed from and to work is 50 km/h or 31 mph.

I have the Hybrid and mileage is pretty consistent, average is 6.9 litres/100kms and slighly worse in winter, goes up to 7.0 l/100km. 32-35 usmpg. This is stop and go big city commuting (16 km in 48 minutes), no special techniques and using Eco mode mostly. Odd thing is in highway driving, I do a 800 km trip every summer and mileage stays the same! No real highway cruise benefit. I haven't seen any +40mpg.

Mileage on the highway in a hybrid will always be less than mileage in the city if you know how to keep the battery going much of the time in the city.

I am able to get 39 MPG in the city but only because I drive the car in a very careful, slow fashion to keep the battery on.

Thanks for sharing. I wish I could say I'm glad someone else has similar fuel economy. I guess it's still better than most non-hybrids, and it's still the best small luxury commuter that I've found.

Safe travels!
