I wanted to give you all a heads up about a persistent noise issue I've been experiencing. I've tried several methods to identify the noise, but it doesn't seem to be related to the suspension or brakes. I suspect it might be coming from a bearing in the transmission or an outer axle.

Interestingly, my wife has a Lexus CT200h with almost identical noise when braking, and her car has around 90,000 miles on it. We've been trying to pinpoint this noise for the last three years without success.

If anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a solution, please let us know. Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

I am glad to share good news.

I live in Korea and have been stressed out for months due to this noise problem. At first, the mechanics at the Lexus local service center I have been using were reluctant to solve this problem, so there was some discord, but eventually, I was able to solve this problem through their cooperation in the end.

The cause of the noise in my car was the constant velocity joint. After having the mechanic at the service center transfer and install the constant velocity joint from the UX that was being used for a test drive at the dealership to my car, I confirmed that there was no noise at all when I drove the car. It is unfortunate that they replaced two constant velocity joints at once, so I do not know which one was the problem.

From Googling and reading the posts on this bulletin board, it seems that there is a problem with the quality of the constant velocity joint that Lexus is using. If you have a connection with Lexus headquarters or a local dealer, please let them know so that they can fix the defect in the constant velocity joint.
