its just like musical trends, alternative music can be anything from nirvana to sarah mclachlan (dont care enough to check if its spelled right) but even so they are both grouped under the same name. I doubt that if someone was to listen to one that they would consider the other to be in the same genre. either way its how people view whatever ur looking at that gives their definition. i just wouldnt sweat it... tons of idiots in this world and you cant reform them all...

haha yet again. Threxx, i definitely feel you and I think the VIPcar purists would have to agree with the origin of the letters. There are those that take ownership of the term VIP but it is what it is.... I see it as an evolution of what the term has become in regards to automotive styling. I dont think anyone will argue that VIP is an exclusive Japanese term here. I mean seriously, I dont think the Japanese alphabet even has a pronunciation for the letter "V" thats why its pronounced "Bippu"

There's no way we can get in the peoples heads back then to find out what their inspiration was when gracing their cars w/ the term VIP. you know, i bet back in the day this was not an issue! the only thing that was gangsta' or somewhat vip was greasers and mafia people! they had nice cars, the cops never harrassed them about their vehicles and they could beat the snot out of you! i think now the younger generation has a misconception on what gangsta and vip really is!

Whether VIP is a graced or owned term it doesn't matter. No one can deny the fact that the Japanese styling cue took something and ran with it. It now has a growing popularity and really i dont care if its here to stay or short run.... the variety in vehicles we have now and the different styling cues is great for all car guys worldwide.
Kudos to just doing your car and non-conforming lines.
