Default Stretched Tires Question

What's a safe size to run stretched tires?

I know the word safe is thrown around a lot, but I was wondering how

215/35/19 on an 8.5" (Should I go 225?)

and

245/30/19 on an 9.5" (Could I go lower?)

would be?

I want it to stretch, but I don't want it to be overly dangerous and afraid for it to pop as this is my daily driver. Vancouver doesn't have the best roads...

I'm planning to use Falken FK452 by the way.

Thanks!
Alex

working and safe are two entirely different things.... in the stretched tire world, if it fits, it works...

to be truly "safe" then you would need to look at a manufacturers spec sheet for the specific tire that you have - it will give you rim width ranges... personal opinion, if your wheel is within .5" of spec, I don't think there is anything to worry about - I'm sure manufacturers are a little strict and over cautious, but on my vehicle, you won't see anything that isn't within spec +/- .5"

those size hardly stretch at all, but you will see is more stretch at the back with a 245. one suggestion i would make is go wider. hard to stretch with single digit wheel.

Thanks guys...

Should I go

215/35/19
235/35/19

Because I was thinking to run 235/30/19

But the FK452 only carry the 235's in this size...

not to hijack your thread but i have a question for you guys along the same lines... my wheels are 20x8.5 & 20x9.5 with 235 30 20 and 255 30 20 fk452's. upstate new york roads are some of the worst around (feel for you NYC guys too, i cant even take the 430 down to the city i have to borrow a car when i need to go). every time i take the car out im bugging about hitting anything to the point where just cruising around is starting to suck. the lip of the rim seems so damn close to the pavement..the tires are definitely inflated enough, maybe even too much.. im clearing the fenders right now (barely) lowered on tein cs v2 cranked all the way down, wheel offsets are 34 all around. hoping to eventually swap that suspension for airrunner but thats besides the point...could you guys offer any suggestions for whatever tire i could change to size wise that might offer atleast a little extra cushion for these horrible roads without causing clearance issues? wouldnt mind sticking with fk452's they seem like a good tire. my wheels arent exactly "one offs" but they are the only set i know of floating around the US right now, if they were easily replaceable i guess i would say ill just continue to chance it and buy a new one or get repairs done if they get damaged...but with these wheels a new one is about a 3 month wait away and the nearest reputable rim repair shop is 2 hours from here... no good.
