I've ridden in both a Century and friend's mom's Bentley (probably the only red Arnage running around Tokyo. Balling, if you see one around Denen-Chofu, it's most likely that one) and the Arnage felt more luxurious.
The pic you posted is a series1 Century that pretty hasn't changed since the late 1960s up till the late 90s I think. The one I rode in was a series2 but still the Arnage felt A LOT more luxurious over all.
But, in Tokyo, if you goto places, you'd get better service pulling up in a Century than in a Bentley b/c any rich person can buy a Bentley and Centurys are for the most part ridden by top executives, the imperial family, and politicians.

Just a name? There are not many cars with the same heritage, pedigree and Universal respect as Bentley.
I Love the Lexus/Toyota brand as much as the next enthusiast...some may even say "A bit more than the average enthusiast"...But theres no way Id ever compare a Bentley to a Toyota. Thats just crazy talk

i knew a corporate executive who was dying to buy a Century but Toyota wouldn't approve him to buy one. then i knew my friend's parents who owned multiple companies/real estate wouldn't even consider buying a Toyota. it's about the lifestyle and how you want to be seen in society...I think (i'm just a poor grad student, what do i know?)

it's actually more complex than that in japan. you have to be pre-approved by Toyota to buy a Century. Any rich person can buy a Bentley. Not any rich person can buy a Century.

it's not THAT exclusive. it's just really hard to get them brand new.

I've watched that DVD too many times. Wish I knew what they were talking about!

But that's ONLY in Japan....not many (including myself) would care. It's the ONLY place they could ever sell that car.
ANYPLACE outside of Japan would look at one and say "I dont care what it is...It's a TOYOTA".
The Century is a great car im sure....but not recognized as a WORLD-WIDE status symbol (with the quality to match) like Bentley.....It's not even close or worth debate.
I wouldnt kick either one outta my driveway tho

Not really, I'm sure they would have marketed it under the Lexus name, and with the LS600hl being close to what, 90-100k? it'd be a bit more than that for the century probably. IDK. I'd take an Arnage T over the century though. Just because of the fact it gets like 12/gal miles hwy, and 8 miles city, and at a mere 215k, it doesn't scream luxury, it screams you wipe your *** with money.
500hp turbo car, stock, and a giant vagine magnet at that, if you have the money, why not?
If I had the money for that, I'd have other measily cars, like a century, a president, etc etc. you know, for daily drivers. LOL
