what i've gathered (maybe the member who lives there can chime in) is that in these smaller asian countries flagship platforms are hard to come by, and when they do the price is significantly more than what we're used to. that's always been enough for me to accept it.
honestly, a lot of the thai/malaysian non-platform vip builds go harder than most of the u.s. builds in terms of completeness.
that being said, i still don't like it. i'm not a fan of most cross-chassis conversions, particularly when it's a drastic step up (i.e. crown on a civic). their style is also generally over-the-top traditional. not my thing.
True but I can drive around or go to some car shows and see the same thing here
there is a Honda Accord with the 2GS front end around here
I bet the interior is exactly the same as a stock Civic.. I love the exterior, though...
I doubt, since he has Junction Produce badges, I think he has some VIP styling from the inside, you know, that table, always wanted one of those, to eat. :P

you're obviously not familiar with the thai vip style. i'm willing to bet the interior is full of crystals, diamond stitching, and lots of lighting/i.c.e.

no doubt. i guess the justification that these guys can't reasonably do anything else holds some weight with me, whereas someone in the u.s. you can buy a platform for cheap. between an accord and a conversion you probably spent more than you can buy a 2gs for here. doesn't make any sense.
either way, i'm not a huge fan but i gotta give them some respect for for going in 100%. same goes for anyone, anywhere though. i have a lot of respect for well executed non-platform builds even if they're not necessarily my style. it's 100x harder to do it right without support.
I am not a huge fan but it does look better than a civic lol. The fabrication looks good but the lines don't work too well. A for effort, B- for execution.
