Lowering on BC Racing coilovers
how far from the ground to the highest point of my wheel well opening should I go I don t have my wheels yet. I have a 2006 GS 300 rwd and Im running a 245/30-20 in the front and a 285/25-20 in the rear. I want to be as low as possible and still be able to turn without ripping my fender up. From my calculations I came up with 25.5 in the front and 25.25 in the rear Im shaved in the front and back my offsets are +29 in the rear and +22 in the front. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated thanks

for reference, since you have seen my car, i'm at 26". Bronson's LS was at 25" before he raised it up a bit (he is going to 20's from 19's). i would think that this is a good starting point for you. since you are shaving instead of rolling, and since you are slightly less aggressive, you may get away with going lower. keep in mind that you will need to file down the bumper clip on the rear fender. also, there is some sort of bumper support/framework at the very middle of the front wheelwell. go too low, and this will shred your tire.

Thanks Ryan, I didn t discredit our previous conversation about this I was hoping to stir up someone with a rwd, and the same profile tires. I took a grinding wheel to the front and rear bumper brackets to make the 22s fit so I don t think they should be to big of an issue. Another reason I think I can go lower is because I am sitting at 26.25 with tein H tech springs I would like to definitely be lower than I am right now

no worries. it's funny, with the AWD, i look much lower than you...probably due to the
4X4 it was beforehand
you should have no issues since you ground everything down. have fun playing with it; that's the beauty of coils. you can tweak to get exactly what you want. 26 will probably be a good place to start though, as they will settle some over the first couple hundred miles...at that point, push the limit

Its cool, I actually took my car to get the coilovers installed and they wished I had the wheels on it so they could get it as tight as possible without rubbing, instead of having to guesstimate it. So I gave them the info I had and went home when I got there I had 4 big *** boxes on my door step WHEELS!!!!! so I ran back up to the shop and dropped them the wheels it should be done tommorrow. I will be posting pics soon I can t wait!
