The Yota dealer can get the 18" touramile (sp) rims at a good price ($250) and do the tires, a 245/40/18, for about $235, (a toyo something) so I'm around $2k. I'm guessing that they should be gentle with the rim. I'll look at my lugs to see if they are the shortys. I appreciate your insight. This is a neat source of info, thoughts and ideas.

you may want to shop around for tires... a local shop quoted around $130 per tire + install
