FS: 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/45-17
I'm selling four (4) Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (all-season) 245/45-17 size. (see pics below)
Price is $200 for all four tires ($50. each), plus $15 to 20 per tire UPS or FedEx Ground (shipping has to be figured for your location).
Reason for selling is that I bought exact same tires in 19" size when I got my 19" iForged rims earlier this year, and i no longer need these. They are in great shape, not abused, but tread is about half worn. Sidewalls are in perfect shape.
These tires are 8mm larger in overall diameter than stock 235/45-17, which is 4mm larger sidewall (not much). They fit just fine and fill out the wheel well just a wee bit better. These tires have about 20K miles on them, hard to judge exactly because I swapped them off during the winter for pure winter tires on separate wheels. Main tread is 5mm, while center ribs are more worn at 2-3 mm (this particular tire has higher center rib wear due to use of a soft rubber compound in the center). Tread was measured with a tread gauge. Tread depth of this tire if NEW is 8mm (10/32"). These tires NEW are $222. EACH on Tire Rack. Check out specs and review on this tire at tirerack.com (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/45-17).
These tires have a very large treadwear rating of 400, so typically do not wear very fast. They would make a great set of tires for someone who isn't ready to spend big bucks for a whole new set just yet.
However, if you are really looking to get around in the snow, you are better off with strict winter tires. These tires are awesome in the dry and rain, however. When any all-season tire begins to wear, it loses ability to bite as well in snow.
Jerry.

No handling difference. There is WAY more difference between brands of tires than between 245 and 235. In this particular case of these Michelins, the sidewalls are fairly stiff, handling is exceptional, and 245's will probably outhandle stock 235's of any other brand.
Very slight speedo error. For 245/45-17 vs stock 235/45-17, the circumference/speedo difference is 1.4%, so at actual 100 mph, your speedo would read 98.6 mph. Speedo, if calibrated, is usually only good to +/-1mph anyway.
