They're both very similar rims. I believe the VS-MX have been discontinued for a while now. The major differences i notice are that the VS-MX have the screw on centercap that covers the lugs, and the end of the spokes flare out a bit towards the edge of the rim.
These should bolt right on to a 2GS! it just depends on what kind of look you're going for. I don't know too much about GS fitment but i know they can run some pretty aggressive sizes. These would probably be on the conservative side though.
