WTT: Rare chrome 20" 3-piece Zauber Gettins
Hello all,
I am looking to trade locally, my staggered 20x8.5/20x10 chrome Zauber Gettins w/tires (decent tread) for staggered 19's w/tires. I want to switch up my look a bit. I don't really have any specific make/model of wheels I'm particularly interested in, but prefer a gunmetal, hyperblack type finish, or even brushed. Just post up with what you have.
Specs: 20x8.5 et +44 (2.5" lip), 20x10 et +48 (4" lip). 3 piece construction. Conservative fitment so no fender modification is needed.
Tires: The front tires are 245/35/20 and are a brand called Achilles with ~70%-75% tread remaining. There is some minor camber wear on the inner edge of the tires. You can have them flipped for a more prolonged life. The rear tires are Nitto NT555 275/30/20 and have ~35%-40% tread remaining. These also have some minor camber wear on the inner edge of the tires. The rears should last several more months before needing replacement.
Flaws and blemishes: There is some light and medium curbage (previous owner) on the rear passenger wheel. The chrome on the light curbage is not peeling. The medium curbage is about 7" long. There are little spots of rust at certain spots. The chrome started to peel so I applied a special clear epoxy to help from furthing peeling (as a temporary measure). There is also some light curbage on the rear driver wheel about 1/3 of the wheel's diameter. This wheel also has a slight blemish on the outer lip about the size of a half dollar. It's a very light copper color. I suspect it was caused after water had sat there on the lip for a while (previous owner). The front driver wheel has about 10 hairline cracks in the chrome on the outer lip. You can only see it when you are about 2 inches up close. There was a very very slight bend in this wheel and the hairline cracks were the result of the repair.
Repair: There was a small bend in the front passenger wheel which I had repaired and re-chromed by Wheel Techniques in August 08'. When I took posession of the wheels (July 08'), I closely inspected them and none of the other wheels had any damage.
Overall Condition: Having owned numerous sets of wheels, I would rate the overall condition of these wheels 7.5 out of 10 due to the cosmetic flaws. The wheels are structurally sound. I will have to double check that I have not added any minor bends to the inner barrels (outers appear fine). I have driven on these wheels since August 08' and have always dodged potholes and dips on roads and freeways so they should fine.
My original intention was to have this set of wheels "black chromed" in the future. Because money is tight due to our economic state, I'd rather just do a trade than have the wheels refinished. These wheels aren't perfect and were my daily driver wheels. For a potential trader, I do not expect your set of wheels to be in perfect condition either. I would be using them as daily driver wheels. Some minor blemishes and flaws are acceptable as long as there are no bends, cracks, or structural damage to the wheels.
Edit: I'm also throwing in Mother's chrome polish and also the Mother's polishing ball (large one).
I will post some close up photos in the near future, but here are some I took a few months ago.
And here are better shots of the make/model of the wheels on the famous bluelex's (Adrian's) car which prompted me to search for and purchase these wheels in the first place. Note: This is not the actual set that is up for trade. He also used spacers for a more flushed appearance.
Adrian: I hope you don't mind.
