I have a question for you folks. Above is a picture of my Yokohama IceGuard G51 Winter Tyres. They have 5-6/32 tread depth and are late 2018 vintage. That being said, the shoulders are showing wear to the point the sipping is no longer visible. Circled in red for clarity. The wear is on random shoulder blocks on two tyres. From the picture, do you agree these belong in the disposable bin or is the wear superficial and they would be good for another season?

The tires are pushing 7 years old and it may be time to put them in the recycle bin but, as to the spotty wear where the siping is worn down in various areas, this can indicate an out of balance condition. Are all four tires showing this type of wear or just the one tire?

I normally move mine down the road once they are 6 to 7 years old, as that is as long as I want to be driving on them, especially at high speed.

That would mean the 44th week of 2018. FWD causes front tires to wear more on the outside and inside shoulders but, I still think that there is an out of balance situation here, as the siping (only one p in this word) wear skips over in various areas. You possibly could have lost one or more wheel weights. A tire pro might make a better determination of the issue.
