jucee i hit a damn mini curb at like 80 of course it wasn't edged but you can imagine hard it musta hit, (highway construction) and the car is still fine. rim is ok alignment probably a little messed up but the rim is still strong. it also depends on what type of rim you get of course. if you have some chromes i'm pretty sure it woulda gotten destroyed but if you have a quality wheel you should be ok.

jucee I have staggered 19's and yes, 245/40-19 on the front on 8.5" rim (+38 offset). I have 19x10 +42 with 275/35-19 on the back. Strangely it only rubs in the front if I brake and turn when going backwards (in REVERSE).

Personally I think this fat setup looks MUCH better than the 245/35 & 275/30 setup.

Bitkahuna- thanks dood.. do you have any pics of your wheel combo?? and on the car?..I want to do staggered too but i want to have the option of rotating the tires.. =) or maybe wait until a camber kit is out...
and oh yeah .. how many inches did you drop your car?..

Romini - thanks again!! but i think u got it backwards.. isnt 35 more agressive than 38 since 35 will be pushing out the wheels more?

if the widths are the same, yes. so if both rims are 9.5, then yes +35 is more aggressive than +38. but since i was talking about 9.5 +38 and 8.5 +35, 8.5 +35 is actually less aggressive (stick in more)

if u go 8.5 rim u can't really go that wide in the back. 255 is abou the max u can go with 8.5. i have 9.5's and i'm regretting it. i want 10.5. just giving you a heads up

I think what tire you choose might make a difference too as to whether you have rubbing or not. I had Dunlop SP9000s (245/40/19 and 275/35/19) and these tires were a lot less meaty than my old Pirellis (245/35/19 and 275/30/19). Even though the widths for both tires were the same: 245mm and 275mm, the Pirellis were actually wider. My wheels were 19x8.5 and 19X9.5 with +41 offset, f&r, and the car was lowered slightly with eibach springs. Even though thats an aggressive setup, I was lucky to not have any rubbing problems whatsoever.

(Grrr, my attachment was too big, so then I hit 'back' to get back to editing my post and CL throws away all I'd typed... $%#$@ - so now you get the short version...)

Staggered looks SO much better than non-staggered and of course you can't have staggered and still rotate.

My car is only lowered an inch. More lowering might be nice to look out, but I don't like scraping speed bumps, parking lot space blocks and driveways.

Not the best pic, but anyway...

Love the wheels and i think 40 tires does NOT look too bad at all.. it looks good..
but from that pic i cannot tell that you have a staggered setup..

well it's staggered but the aspect ratio is there. you can just treat his car with front and back 40

and bit, yeah, i have heard plenty that it's the condition for 20s to run. full lock and in reverse
