duh...
all along i thought the number 40 was a static size of the sidewall.. NOW i know its a percentage of the width of the tires.. THanks Fellaz!!! Again..
so let me see if the tire width is 275MM and the profile is 40.. it means 275 x .40 = 110MM? damn thats FATT.
245 x .40 = 98MM
275 x .35 = 96MM much better.

i have 245/40/19 in the front and it rides great. my car is low and it's only about a finger gap, maybe a little more, but the back is 275/35/19 and its under a finger gap........... it rubs in front sometimes when the wheel is turned and i'm driving slow over something (i.e. speedbumps) it hits the front plastic.
nothing major, but i'd getting ready for a new car soon anyway..............

on a 18x8.5 rim for a gs300/400, which spec tire should i go with? i.e. 245/45/18 or 255/45/18?
thanks for the help, i'd really like to go w/a 45 sidewall ratio since ny roads are not known for rim friendliness

With my L-Tuned springs/shocks and same size tires as you, I rub a bit more often than I'd like.
Why the car switch?

i have a 1.75" drop with the L-sportline. The gap is very small and rubs very little sometimes when going slow and the wheel is turned. At least that''s the only time i notice it. The plastic inside is starting to wear, but not much since it's been since April with the tires.
new car cuz the car is getting old, waiting to see what the new GS430 (GS500??) is. If its AWD, they have my sale
