Default What's the correct procedure to roll fenders?

I know there's a machine out there where you can rent to roll the fenders, but if I can't get my hands on one....what's the proper procedure to roll your fenders?

I heard about using a wooden baseball bat and a heating gun....How's that work?

Any other method out there?

Thanks!

Both of those methods crack paint. I had the quarters on my Supra done to accomodate 315's. The method that I used was to have a good bodyman cut the inner lip. Worked just fine.

Cutting the lip also exposes the underlying metal which can rust quickly over time.

I had my body shop bend the lips back (which cracks the paint) and refinish and repaint the cracked areas. By not removing any of the material, you are not sacrificing the integrity of the fenders. This is the only correct way of doing it. I also know that they did not use a bat! lol...

Good luck.

Default Heat Gun

Heat gun is key to not having the paint crack. We rent/ sell a fender lip roller. The wait is pretty long on it though. Also, you can try our local installer list many of them can do that work well.
