Default Staggered Setup 8.5 &10 or 9.0 & 10????

I've been calling around for quotes on wheels and about 3/4 of the guys I talk to say "A 99 GS right, those can take 9.0 and 10, you should go with the 9" Maybe they are just looking for the extra money but it's only like a $20 or $30 dollar difference per wheel. I't seems like most CL members have 8.5 and 10. What is preferred? What looks better? What tire size implications would this have. What driving impliacations? Does anybody have 9.0 and 10 here on CL.

driving wise they are about the same, i don't think you will be able to tell much difference. 9 will fit no problem but offset has to be more precise. 8.5 gives it more room on the offset choice

well to make it simple if you don't have the right offset the wheel will be either too outward or too inward and it would rub

mostly personal preference as well as the type of wheel(s) that you are looking at.

if 9+10s have the right offset/disk type, the lips would be slightly deeper

but, if you plan to really "slam" the car, stay with 8.5s

'Kinda' off the subject but I noticed that L-sportline wheels offer only 2 kinds of offset. For 20x8.5 its +42 and for 20x10 its +48. Can someone verify for me is that the only offsets l-sport offers?

well that will fit the GS no problem at all, though the offset is definitely very non-aggressive (very conservative)

umm... but seriously though, 8.5 +44 is very inset. my 19s were +38 and it was ok. i have +32 now and that's aggressive (might rub a bit). i suggest around from 35 to 40
