As my GS3 is black I'm starting to consider black wheels (just when I had it narrowed down to 2 chrome ones
) Anyway, it seems like all the wheels that are made black either don't come in 19" or are not a design that I particularly like. I saw some old posts about people painting there wheels. has anyone ever bought the rims they liked and had them painted? If I do paint some wheels, I'm thinking I should get silver wheels and If I get three peice I could take them apart and just paint the face. Anyone done this? Black with chrome lip would be the best look I think.
BTW: Do black rims look smaller?

I've gotta say that lately I'm liking black wheels on black car ALOT more!! As others have said, I would go for a finish that has some luster to it, like a clearcoated black, or gloss black etc. Check out this Photoshop that GSTRANCE did to his gettins

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. That is HOTT! My idea is to buy the rims have them taken apart and then take the center to a body shop and have them painted and clear coated or black high gloss like you said. Damn this is a hard decision.
Anyone know if those are 19s or 20s?

Yeah, I hear ya about being able to "see your money" way more with chrome. It's also kind of strange spending all that money on wheels and then painting them. But I'm thinking if I get some wheels that don't come in black and then paint them, then I would be the ONLY person on the road with those particular rims. Nobody else could have my wheels real or knock-off. I am afraid black does make them look smaller though especially gettin 19s instead of 20's I'm hoping maybe dropping the car will help with that.

yeah to be honest in order to have a car with black wheels, I would probably have to have another car with chrome wheels!
This is the car that made me start liking black wheels though
This car makes black wheels look GOOD (if I had this, I would make an exception to my above stated rule
)
