Is this crack ok?????
Hey guys,
I was washing my moms es300 today and noticed the front passenger side rim has a slight crack. Here are a few pics. Is this ok or should it be replaced? Is there a way to fix it?
thanks

I wonder how the heck the crack took place originally, seems like in a weird location. That's horrible to see it on an ES Platinum wheel. Yeah you should definitely have it checked out; I see no sense in replacing the wheel on account of just one crack. I tend to think it's almost similar to a crack on a windshield; it will only get bigger and worse

You should replace that wheel for sure. That crack will continue across that spoke under normal driving stresses. Eventually it could fail catastrophically.
You could probably have it weld repaired, but since it is structural, I would suggest replacing it. Weld repairs are OK on rim flanges (lips), but spokes are different.
See if Lex will honor a warrantee or try looking for a used one. In the meantime, keep an eye on it. Mark it with a light scratch to monitor its progress.

I'll call Longo Lexus tomorrow and ask them if it is still under warranty since her car has less than 35k miles on it.
