On the tires, Pirelli actually has a 315/30-19 now (I have four in stock)- it's a bit taller than what you have now, (approx. 26.44" versus your current 25.73"), but it is still shorter than my 285/30-20 (26.73"). If you wanted to run a 19x11 with the same "frontspacing" as your 19x10 +50, you would need a 19x11 +62.7

My next trick will be to use the new Pirelli 305/25-20 on the rear of my GS (I'll probably use 20x10.5, to keep the tire 'squared up' to the rim flanges). This tire is not available in the USA.... but I have connections



Bottom line: the GS looks HOT with massive meats on the rear!!!

I am also getting 10" wide rear wheels. Is the best offset for me going to be in the mid +40 range?
I need to know this so that I get it right.... originally was going to get 9.5 but the rep said they don't do the 2 piece in 9.5, only 10....so here I go....LIPS

Will those Enkei Phalenx rubb on the wheel well? I have some that I run on the Supra but I am getting new rims for that and want to put the Phalenx's on the GS. Will I have rubbing problems? I rub sometimes when I hit a bump in the supra already. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The supra fitment is the same as used on the GS.

i thought the supra has more freedom on wheels setup. basically wheels from GS will fit on supra (in terms of rubbing. the caliper clearance is another issue), but wheels from supra might not fit the GS

and onenrg1, i think it all depends on the offset. if someone can tell me the offset of these wheels front and back (and size, i suppose 8.5 and 10?), and i can tell you if they will rub with certain size tires

Basically, Enkei doesn't offer very many choices for the Phalenx, and there is only one proper offset available, so the Supra and GS would share the same fitments.

+38 F = No Rub using 245/35-19

+45 R = No Rub using 285/30-19 with slight fender mods*

*No Rub depends on what brand tire you are using as sidewall shapes vary from brand to brand - Reference my other thread post

10+45 in the back give you a good chance with 285. i am actually a bit surprised that it still rubs a bit with stock fender tab. in that case that means my 10+43 with 285 will rub more seriously...

Henry, you and I both trimmed our fenders too be safe. I think we now have a comfortable clearance, where previously there was some slight rubbing on big bumps.

Also my definition of no rub, means that it is physically impossible to hit the fender. The way I checked the clearance was so that even if the suspension fully bottomed out, I would have atleast 1/8 inch clearance.

When other people say they don't rub, it sometimes means they have a stiff suspension or that their car has enough fender gap so that they haven't rubbed yet, but technically they could rub if the car were either lower or if they had a softer suspension.

Most people don't intentionally try to hit a big bump to find out if they will rub, so unless they have physically tested the clearance like I have, then no rub is not 100% guaranteed.

i needed to bring this thread back up


i am considering getting the 285/30/19 for the rears .. i have ssr gt3 with a +41 in the rear... i was planning on doing a 285/30 dunlap sp9000 .. i am on a firm somewhat stiff bilstein pss coils set at about 1.75 finger gap.. i know the the extrajust shy of 1/4 sidewall increase the gap would reduce to maybe 1 1/2 finger ... do you think i will rub without shaving the fender????



please help guys for i know Bit is running a 275/35 fat tire , did he trim his fender for his overall dia would be like 26.5


i dont ride adults in make , just my kids which are under 10 .. i am here in south hurricaine florida so big bumps and ruts dont really exsisit here and i dont plan i slamming it

ed, i think it will rub a bit. 41 with 275 is good, specially if you get the dunlup which is pretty round. but with 285, the tire is quick a bit wider, and you definitely want to shave your lip to accompany that

actually the sec width of the 285 is 11.1 and the 275 in goodyear is 10.9 but the height is about 1/4 taller .. i want that sidewall to match the front to me just a nicer meaner looking stance ... i was reading some posts from tinygs about his 285 from bridestone being very chunky and they measure 11.4 sec width.. imo it seems the dunlaps are 1/8 in less chunky and my bilstein pss are very stiff in the rear and i am not slamming so it might just work and if not i have a large air compressor in my garage so i can break out the air grinder and perform very very minor surgery

well i guess i will know shortly for that streched shorter sidewall thing is not agreeing with me anymore

dont' get me wrong ed, even when i said you need to shave the fender, that's very easy, nothing like chopping the car in half honestly, when i get new tires, i might just see if i can put on 285
