sorry man, this was the first car that came to mind since it had the same wheel in step and reverse lip, but notice how in the second pic, the lip has a ridge in it, like its the face, then lip, then a ridge then more lip.

The first pic, its just face, then straight lip

Hope this helps. Look at the top pic where I put an arrow to the step. Then look at the bottom pic where it is all flat with no step.

Step/Normal lip:

No Step/Reverse lip:

ok ...here is my thought..

5 spoke or 6 spole design(simple , clean wheel design) goes well with step lips, 5 spoke rims with step lip will look OK without Big brake upgrade BUT
5 spoke with reversed lip wont look good without BBK.
JP scara 19 with reversed lip look fine without BBK but if it is reversed lip ( which is not produced)
then it will look kinda funny.

Dish wheels goes well only with reversed lips, doesnt need any BBK to look good. Dish wheel with step lip will kill the luxury , clean look of it like TOTALLY.

Mesh wheels goes well with reversed lips only. with BBK it will look awesome. Mesh wheel with step lip will look "a bit" to complicated but still ok if its got BBK behind it, cuz the step lips wont attract much of the attention as the Mesh design take most of it already.
