Default sumitomo HTR Z2 or Nitto NT555

if you guys have read my other treads in this section you can tell im quite a noobie when it comes to tires, but any ways i have a deal for either set for the same price (sumitomo HTR Z2 or Nitto NT555) which one is better? oh and the tires are 245/35/20 all around.
better meaning: listed in order by most important
1) driving on wet roads (#1 factor, houston rains a lot)
2) tread life
3) DB
4) handling

well i already purchased the nittos as well, the reason why i picked these tires was because of the tread design. it looks like its more of an all season style tire and could dissipate water better.

where as the sumitomo are more of a summer tire i.e. dry pavement

i know that tread ratings differ from company to company so infact you should only compare tread ratings within that company only when comparing their tires. BUT i factor that 80 tread is not negligible from company to company so in saying that. the nittos have a tread at 300 while the sumitomo have a tread at 220. so in my opinion the nittos will last longer.

gosh you got to love the internet, i started this thread as a noobie and i have to say i still am BUT i have learned a lot thanks to the internet.

NITTO is very very bad with water
I owned NT555 in 18s' and 20s', here in So Cal doesn't rain alot so it's okay. But once it starts to rain, I didn't even want to take my car out.......cuz I lost control of the vehicle couple time.

Cool

I would give serious consideration to the new Toyo Proxes 4 or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.....you might pass out however once you hear the Michelin price for a tire that size.

i own a set in 20's right now and i'm scared to drive in the rain as well. I don't trust these tires in the rain...

I bought some Sumitomo HTR Z II in 18" and it rained yesterday... I was pleasantly surprised for ultra high performance summer tires the reacted very well. I actually was able to jump off the line at red lights and felt very secure on the freeway. I even took it to past 90 mph and was still feeling comfortable (although this was pretty dumb to do in the rain).

If you want a serious rain tire, the only choice is the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's
