Default Gettin' Bent

I bent a set of Lowenhart BR5's 3 piece. They sat in my garage for 2.5 years. I just sent them off in March to WRS (Wheel repair Specialist) in Santa Ana, CA. They fixed the bends, welded the cracks, and re-chromed the outer lips and painted/clear coated the centers same paintcode as the car. They did a SUPERB job. If anyone needs wheels repaired, I can provide the info. Yes these are the wheels on my GS 300 Sportdesign, the graphite grey one.

Thanks,
Jeremy

sorry to resurrect, but i would like to see this go on..

i personally have not bent any rims, but the 20" anteras that came with my car (which i sold) was already cracked and repaired in the front passenger (20x8.5 245/35). the rear 20x10 (275/30) was A-OK.

i am REALLY thinking about the new WORK TS1's..

2 years on my TSW's, no bends (just a little curb rash from New Orleans Mardi Gras), 18/19" setup... Previously on my 3000GT I had two different sets of wheels - a set of Konig Villains 18" and an off brand name split 5 spoke wheels, also 18" - neither a dent nor ding in either of them - both with 245/40-18 size tires, over the course of about 6 years... on one of my Talons, I had 17" TSW's but only for about 6 months, no dents or dings there either... the only wheel I've ever bent I bent REALLLY BAD - it was an OE wheel on my 91 Talon - the two piece stock aluminum wheel, hit a pot hole right after it rained, hit it so hard it bent the inner lip of the wheel into a V shape...

I had some 20" IForged awhile back and they really took some abuse. They held up quite well as you can see from these pics

I bent my MB AMG 5-spoke wheels, about one year in. I replaced them with fake AMG staggered wheels. I also bent my Racing Hart Evolution S15 (not really high end), but I am getting it fixed for my beater Prelude. They quoted me $160 for the job in MD. Sound pretty high, but I want to use them because I have 3 really good tires.

I wouldn't call a set of Essenza's "high end" but for a one piece wannabe three piece cheap wheel (These were 17" was for my Honda Accord with the classic rivets) stucturally they held up for the last 30,000 miles I put on them with construction everywhere and also hit a couple of curbs pretty hard looking for lighter so I can smoke. The finish was not exactly top notch for there are pits and corrosion everywhere, now they are my winter wheels for that car which i gave to the wife so she can stay away from the Lex. Let her scratch up, bend up those rims all she wants.

I found out this weekend that I have minor bents in two of my iForged 18" classics. Inside of the left rear wheel and inside of the front right wheel. I would not have known but for the fact that my left rear tire lost air. I have no idea how this could have happened since I am very careful with speed bumps and potholes.

Can anyone recommend a good wheel repair shop in the Los Angeles area?

LOL Ruff Racing 19s broke two left wheels. They were 2 weeks old. And to be honest the pothole wasnt even that bad.

Question for the experts. Would you say that rims with lips are easier to bend than those without?

^ I don't see why that would be the case. I've hit some pretty bad elevations and pot holes at freeway speeds, no problems (I love my Trafficstars!).
