are you supposed to do wheel alignment in which of the next situations (these are questions)

1. when you get new tires.

2. after wheel/tire rotation

3. after getting new wheels

4. after changing the height of the vehicle.

5. after changing suspension parts (i.e. sway bars, bushings etc etc)

i have some vibration issue i cannot get rid of.. need some help.

thanks

that would mean wheel alignment every 8000 miles....... (tire rotation schedule according to tirerack) that can get expensive....

but 3,4, and 5 are must and 1 and 2 optional right?

Default Alignment

1. when you get new tires. = At least have it checked.

2. after wheel/tire rotation = At least have it checked.

3. after getting new wheels = Have it checked.

4. after changing the height of the vehicle. = With lowering springs? Yes it's a must.

5. after changing suspension parts (i.e. sway bars, bushings etc etc) = Yes.

yes. i rotate my tires every 6K miles. since i have teins, and i'm running on 20s, i have to protect my investment. a little bit of extra cash, but well worth it.

i get my alignments done by hand, by the way. I don't trust those computer alignments.

god that's why i get staggered set up, so i can't even rotate my tires

but yeah, a lot of times you might want to realign the car. happened to my old car where after i rotated the tires, the car pulled to one side

brandon: thank you. I will do that.

AutoCotoureSC: how and what do you do to hand align them?

mikeloc: it sure was straight... but wanted several opinions.

Several different opinions are ALWAYS best, and I too am curious as to how a "hand alignment" is done. I always thought a computer was more precise than a person's hand, maybe I was wrong...let us know...

Don't know if you guys have Firestone in your area, but they offer lifetime alignment and rotation for 100 bucks. I go and have my wheels aligned every 3k miles and such.
