Are Falken Tires good?

I am considering 243/35/19 from Falken (new model), Nitto 555 Extreme, and Toyo Proxes FZ4 (T1-S) doesn't come in the 245/35/19 size.

Not interested int he Yokohama AVS sport or Pirelli (too $$$).

Appreciate your opinions.

Ted

I dont know much about Falken tires but I would take the Nitto 555 Extreme over the Toyo FZ4's. I have had both of them on my IS and the Nitto's were way better. I didnt like the FZ4's at all.. I had them on for only one day buy I was slidding everywhere.

I heard Falken is crap ! Too bad Toyo's T1-S doesn't come in your size, they are awesome ! I heard from some people that custom rim shops gives customers cheapest tires to put on rims, and they told me it was Falkens !

Can't say personally if they are good or not , never had em and never will.

Falken's are a good, low-cost solution to have something on your rims.

They are inexpensive and that's it. They are not a handling tire.

They're often for the person who bought an older car that was once a performer and who needs to put something inexpensive (and affordable) on the the car.

Other people who purchase them are buying only on price. And for that they work. They are inexpensive and come in enough sizes to fit most cars.

Lightbulb based on what i know

ted,

the toyo T1-S IS NOT FZ4, they are day and night different.

the FALKEN GRB 451 is well received in both the european adn japanese market. like marty said, for the money, you cannot beat them. the tread design is good, imho, and they have high tread waear-longer lasting.

my feeling is that falken, as a tyre mfg., has not been in the us long and spend less $$ on advertising. but it has quite good matket share in markets around the world. i saw them in an auto salon before, i like them for the price you pay. yousure the T1_S does not have the size you need?

Default T1-S in 19s

I would have your dealer call Toyo just one more time. Toyo just release four more sizes for the T1-S and the majority of them are indeed in 19.

Default Falken Tires - Worst Tires - Worst Tire Company

I put 17K on my Falkens (2002 Mercedes S430), and they were bald. I tried working with their company in California, and they were unbearable. They sent me in to 4 different Big O & Discount Tire centers to get my tires looked at, and I found out that Big O & Discount do not even stock Falkens anymore for this reason. After quite a bit of research I finally had Discount put on some Yokohama's. I had talked to Yokohama several times and the experience was night and day.
Please take Falken off your list as a consideration. The company is not reputable & their tire quality is pitiful. Please view pic attached.

They were 225/60/16's. I would be very wary!

I had the GRB-451 in 19"

Great tire. Quiet, great traction in dry and wet, lasted a very long time.

Would buy again.

I too had this model and size on a twin turbo (custom) 350Z . . . I would say they get great miles at a great price and grip fairly well in the dry & wet, but make no mistake, these tires are not made for the snow *LOL* . . . , especially with 400+ whp at your feet . . .

OMG... THEY ARE PERFORMANCE TIRES>>>SOFTER TREAD=MORE GRIP...LESS TREADLIFE.

20K for an ultra high performance tire is NORMAL.

I have 10K on a set of ZE512's best tire i have ever had. last car i had had them (Lexus ES250) the next car (LS400) will have them as well. they are quite possibly one of the best tires you can buy IMO, hoewver, in the lower profiles, they are ONLY RATED TO LAST 30K MILES UNDER EASY DRIVING.

I'm running these as well right now. So can't really give feedback. Wet traction is not that good.
