Tire width on IS300 rims...
I'm finally replacing my stockers and I had to do it ASAP so I couldn't wait it out for GS width wheels but got a set of IS wheels really cheap for my SC. I was wondering what was the max width the IS (7 in) can fit? I think that 225/50/17 would fit best but I would rather do 235/45/17 but 235 seems a little too wide.
edit: I was also thinking that if I can't fit 235 that maybe I would do 225/40/17, speed will be off by a couple mile per hour @ 60mph but there are more tires to choose from.
Any thoughts and/or reccomendations?
Thanks

Tire Size
225/50 17 is the correct size to run on those wheels ad on your car. Some have done 235/45 17 but that is outside the tire manufacturers rim width range and is hard to get that size to seat correctly. I would stay with 225/50.
