Help - Max tires size for SC400 with 17X8 GS400 rims
I did do a search to find the answer but after 45 minutes of looking....
Can someone please tell me the maximum tire size I can mount on 8X17 98 GS400 rims that I have under my 1995 SC400. The SC's stock and will remain that way. I was going to change back to my all season 16's during the winter but figured that by this winter my 17 summer performance tires will need to be replaced. I'm inclined to go with a good all season that I hope will give a quieter and smoother ride. If you have suggestions on the tire to use, thanks in advance.

Assuming the stock 16"s had 225/55/16 tires, allowing for the facts that I don't know if those wheels have the correct offset and I don't know what will fit in your wheel wells(how's that for a disclaimer?), 245/45/17s look like they'll be very close to the o.e.m. overall height and shouldn't alter your speedometer readings measurably.

Check the topic "Top 6......" at the top of this forum for tire recommendations. Aside from those, the SP Sport 5000s are on some new Lexus' and have a reputation for being quieter and "softer".

Thanks for the info. I currently have 235/45ZR's and what I reall want to do is fill the tire well without rubbing anywhere. I have a gps so I can figure my true MPH so that's not an issue.
Thanks againg...
