Cool

Still waiting for my special order 18" Lowenhart BR5 rims for my GS430. Hopefully it will be here in 45 days or less. In the meantime I am debating on getting Bridgestone S-02 Pole Position or Michelin Pilot Sport. I have some past experience with the S-02 but the wheel dealer I order the Lowenhart recommends the Michelin as it is quieter, better comfort, better performance and last longer.

Any input on this???

Lightbulb look at the rack

take a look at the tirerack.com's customer feedback.

from what i read and told by a local tyre distributor, between the s-o2s and the pilot sports, the s-o2s are better value for you money.

Bridgestone is the best for the money plus the performance difference is very limited that you may not even feel it. Save the money and get a L-Tuned ECU.

Cool Dealer say Bridgestone being discontinued

I was told by a tire dealer that the size I needed for the rear 275/35R18 is not available on the Bridgestone S-02 Pole Position as it is being discontinued. I did not have the chance to confirm this with other dealers (ie. TireRack). I will check with them tomorrow. I also read somewhere in that Bridgestone will be releasing a new tire call S-03. Anyone heard of this?

I still have about 45 days before the 18" rims arrives therefore still have some time to choose the right tire.

I am leaning toward the S-02 unless someone has better thing to say about Michelin. If it is true that 275/35R18 is indeed being discontinued I may have to lean toward Michelin.

Decision.... Decision.... Took me 2 weeks to decide on the Lowenhart BR5 rims.

Thank for the inputs guys!!!

My friend had michelin sport in 20's and the noise were unbearable! I dunno about 18's but when going like 50 mph I couldn't even hear what he was saying in the car.

Cool Bridgestone S-03

Just check out Bridgestone's website and read about the new S-03 tires. Impressive... This is perfect timing as the release date for my tire sizes will be May 2001 which is also the time my 18" Lowenhart BR5 rims will be arriving from Japan. The technology use on the S-03 surpass that of previous models.

Just hope that there will be sufficient stock available when my rims arrive.

Cool Bridgestone S-03

Got confirmation from TireRack that they will be receiving S-03 first week of May. The cost will the same as the the current S-02. 245/40R18 will be $255 and 275/35R18 will be $315.

Can't wait to get my rims with these tires next month.

I am interested in getting new tires also but for my factory 17" chrome wheels. I was recommended first by Sears to get the Michelin Pilot Sports, but from lots of research here and at other sites, Michelins are out, and these are the ones I am thinking about:

Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position
Dunlop SP9000
Yokohama AVS dB
Toyo T1-S
Nitto NT 555 Extreme ZR

But I don't know which ones are good if I am just putting on the regular 17" chrome rims. And I saw that many of you are putting different sized tires in front and rear, what does this do? what are pros and cons of putting larger rear than front tires?
